About this product
Indigenous artist and storyteller Andrea Fritz shares the story of a salmon and a sea otter who learn the importance of saying "I don't know" and asking for help. Thuqi’, the sockeye salmon, knows it's time to spawn, but she’s lost in the Salish Sea and can’t find her way to Sta'lo', the river. She turns to Tumus, the sea otter, for guidance, but he doesn't know the way either and brushes off her questions. However, when Tumus himself gets tangled in weeds, Thuqi’ shows him that it’s okay not to have all the answers—you can still help a friend in need.
Set in Coast Salish Traditional Territory, this original story by Andrea Fritz uses Indigenous storytelling and artwork to share the culture and language of the Hul'q'umi'num'-speaking Peoples
